is death an end, a beginning, or just another stage on the path?
i watched a movie last night called the eye 2. it was about the buddhist belief in reincarnation.
in the movie, souls wait for women to give birth in order to reincarnate into the baby.
First I cannot begin to understand your loss and I am very sorry. When I look at my little boy, who is four, I can see him coming into understanding of what is right and wrong. At one time he did not have any understanding and was innocent, although born into sin that we all experience and soon understand. But once we understand we become accountable. Your grandbaby was not yet understanding of this world or of any right or wrong.
I think that there are many promises concerning this very thing in God's Word. During one of Jesus' conversations with the deciples about eternal life he said the following "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also." John 14:18,19. Chapter 14 of this John is full of His promises of life after we leave this body. I encourage you to seek truth in what Jesus promises, not what mankind's search for God has in other other beliefs such as Buddism.
I am saddened to read that still many former JWs have been deceived into believing, even after leaving the WTS, that the physical death is the end.
Praise our Lord! His whole purpose was and is to defeat death. You will see your grandbaby again, that is our Lord's promise. If not, then why did God send Him to earth?
i spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who is a active dub although his actions and decisions in most things would indicate that he is not a believer of the "troof".. we spoke about 9/11 and how horrific the event was for everyone.. one of the things we spoke about was how terrible it must be for the people who made the decision to jump out of the windows because of the intense fire, heat and smoke in the tower.. he commented that an elder in his hall mentioned that this act is still considered suicide and those persons would not be part of the resurrection.. how ridculous is that?
do they just make up the rules on a whim?.
does anyone know what the "offical postion" on this would be with the borg?.
Great point about it being done out of self defense. In a moment of extreme trauma and in a panic, it cannot be classified as suicide period.
Passing judgement on those unfortunate victims is so hateful. Hateful.
Someone posted pics yesterday of a lady in a pink shirt who jumped. You can see the terror on her face. It always makes me cry, or want to. Her life was important, and having it stolen away by a friggin scumbag is not how it will end. The pompas ass who said they any of them won't be resurrected needs a big attitude adjustment.
can anybody quote any articles which speak out against the radical muslim terrorists?.
the watchtower made its reputation in the 1900's slamming catholicism and christendom.
surely you'd expect them to lash out against the muslim extremes.. or, are they afraid to do so?.
Yes, they like many others are frightened to speak the truth about Islam. Mankind's Search is a great example. No one could read that book and know what a dangerous and violent ideology hiding behind religion it is. It's violent history, pedophilia, beheadings to shock and intimidate etc.
Hey, if cartoons offend muslims to the point of forming angry murderous mobs, and gov'ts try their best to appease, I really don't blame the WTS for trying to avoid them. Let the pro's go after them!

nashville, tenn. (sept. 9) - the war in iraq is not over, but one legacy is already here in this city and others across america: a "silent epidemic" of brain-damaged soldiers.
thousands of troops have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, or tbi.
stillaexjwelder, your rules also apply to our interstate system.
Only difference, it's not just young men who get injured and killed.
thanks for being a voice of reason, and not just spouting off the prevalent hatred that exists. Learning to truly respect the beliefs of others is a process of maturity.

Take it easy there Hillary, who said 'lies"??? Distortions certainly. How often do you see positive stories about people who chose to serve in the military?
More people die on highways every year than troops who die in combat. Should we shut down the Interstates? Ban the automobile? Now, I would like to know how many motor vehicle crash survivors on US highways wind up with traumatic brain injury... ? And not to mention how "pointless" these highway deaths are, something must be done and done NOW.
I don't mind varying opinions, but will insist on consistency.
i stopped going to meetings over a year ago as i'm a lesbian and have finally accepted it.
i was a witness for 22 years, since i was born.
now i missed my friends at the hall at first, but now i have some amazing new friends that love me no matter what.
It's time to set firm boundaries. Why go into a humilating scene? You know how it is, and it's a conflict YOU need to deal with. So why make it any harder than it already is?
I agree with writing the letter and leaving it at that. A meeting will not change anything at this point.
Hang in there, and don't let it stress you out.

"Most are there for a better life." No, they're there b/c they decided they won't sit back and be passively slaughtered in their streets. They don't want anymore 9/11's. That's it.
"For an education." I know personally a great many, and they probably have more education than you do, as they have more than average citizens. But there are some who want to serve first, and get an education later.
"The majority are from poor sectors and see no way out of poverty, other than joining the military." BS, bs, and bs. I'm from anything but a poor sector (but your class-baiting is noted), and I personally know one who has a sizeable fortune and business opportunities waiting for his return. He's 20 yrs. old and believes the best use of his time at this point is spent helping to defeat people who want to destroy what we have here.
"Aggressive recruitment capitalizes on this." Recruitment is being hampered. Most GO TO the recruiting offices.
"You're speaking for all of the troops?" Yes. I personally know and speak as part of a vast membership on a Pro-troops site. It's one of the most active forums that exists.
"Some may want to go back." Most of them do, that I've talked to.
"But not all." Yes, and believe me on this, the ones who don't, they can't wait to ship them out. FAST. You can be sure of that.

They (the troops) didn't think it was pointless when they VOLUNTEERED, and still want to go back.
